School has proven to be quite the time consuming challenge.
We were still able to finish out the 07 season with our FIRST
WIN!! Taken at Laguna Seca after we figured out why we were
down on horsepower. Unfortunately Midterms prevailed over
racing for the final race of the year. We were able to send off
the engine for a tune up and are ready to race at Sears Point
march 29th. We are going to race as much as possible in 2008.
hope to see you there.

After missing the Laguna Seca race for Physics and Calculus
finals, I was ready for racing. The Thunderhill Double
weekend started off with a bang, Quite literally. The first hot
lap in Thursday practice, I blew up my entire differential and
spent all day Thursday and Friday thrashing to get back on
track.
Niel Porter was calling all over the country trying to find me
parts, and Scott and Chester Carter brought two of their spare
transmissions. Finally with everyone's help i had a working
transmission. It wasn't pretty but it worked.
Unable to qualify, i started tail-end-charlie and put on quite a
show working my way up to fifth in the first race. For the
second qualifying i was going for all it was worth with a
1:58:11 close to matching my best time. The race was a mess
of wrecks and mostly ran under caution. I was unable to
improve my position and finished fourth. I think we've made
this old Lola go as fast as it can go. The only ones beating me
regularly are newer Crossles with very experienced drivers.

After much anticipation for the first race of the season, our
first race ended in the weeds. After a good qualifying effort we
had a great start and ended up fourth. Able to keep up with
the second and third place cars, we were getting racy when a
formula vee oiled turn 2 and everyone was slipping and
sliding. Somehow I ended up backwards in the foot tall weeds
at the edge of the tires unable to move.

--11/2/06--
Well aside from all the bad luck we had at the end of the
season, we placed 5th in the final points standings. We have
learned so much this year from engine tuning, to Penske
shocks, and what happens when you have my uncle, the car
owner, and my dad all coming up with ideas for changes. You
have to try weird stuff to get anywhere and sometimes it
works out. We have a really good setup for Laguna Seca and
with a little luck we could have a few podiums next year. Now
were going to rebuild the car again and see if we can get a
couple more tenths somewhere.

The double weekend at Thunderhill meant double trouble for
us. One little thing after another made for a long weekend.
From broken battery cables shorting out our battery in
qualifying, to a kinked fuel vent tube choking our engine in the
final race. We had all sorts of little stuff go wrong.  Finishing
5th and 7th out of 14. We made it through without to much
damage in the points. We are checking the car very
thoroughly for the last two races.
On the bright side we ran the fastest lap time this car has ever
gone with a 1:58:01 in second qualifying. With more shock
tuning there might even be more in this old Lola.

--6/13/06--
As much as I enjoy racing at Thunderhill, this weekend was a
mess. There were almost thirty Formula Fords and twenty-five
Formula Volkswagens, which even for 3 mile long Thunderhill,
is a lot of cars. Unfortunately we never had a clean lap to see
how much our new shocks really improved our lap times.
Though the car felt much better and we pulled off some fast
laps (even with traffic) we still don’t know what this old car
can do with up to date shocks.  On to Sears Point!!

--5/22/06--
It was nice to be back to a track that I am very familiar with.
Thunderhill was great because the rain went right around us.
Although the track was very “green” we still broke into the
1:59s and every one else was having a tough time with the
track. After qualifying 5th we were very optimistic about the
race. (I always seem to be faster in the race) After an awesome
start thanks to our new radios, we settled into 3rd , slipped
back to 5th because of traffic, and then muscled my way back
to a 3rd place finish. The bonus race went similar until we
broke a rear sway bar mount and then I fought a wicked push
in the car to a 5th place finish.
The June race should be very interesting because we are
going to have our new Penske shocks assembled by Mike
Naake and hopefully tuned on Friday practice and also a new
pair of shoes to see what this old Lola can really do.
Hope to see everyone there to see how many heads we can
turn.

--4/30/06--
The 06 season was off to a very wet start at Sears Point with
the rain attacking me every time I entered the track. Our
makeshift rain tires (grooved American Racers) at least helped
me limp around the track and finish the race in 8th place,
along with being able to roll the car into the trailer in one
piece.

Laguna Seca proved to be a better weekend, mainly because
it was dry, but of course we knew it wouldn't rain (we came
prepared with rain tires this time).  We didn't qualify as well as
we did at Sears Point, but our 5th place finish in our bonus
race left us very optimistic of our future races here at Laguna
now that we are getting closer to the perfect setup.

We are looking forward to our next race at Thunderhill at the
end of this month.  We are very comfortable with our setups,
and our lap times at this track are 2 seconds faster than the
old Club Ford track record.

We hope you can come join in our fun.
